I Love Independents

We offer a wide range of render carrier boards and laths to cover most applications, these include E-Board, Renderpro, Knauf Aquapanel, Rendalath and a variety of metal laths and fixings.

Typical Uses of Render Boards

     E-Board applications

Renderpro

Render Pro

Renderpro is a magnesium silicate board and is fully approved for direct rendering with the appropriate K-Rend or JUB base coats.  Renderpro is a non-combustible, moisture resistant board with excellent fire retardant and sound insulation and impact properties.  It is lightweight, easy to cut, breathable and mould resistant.  Renderpro is widely used on timber frame applications for both vertical and horizontal (soffit boards) applications.

For off-site and modular construction, Multi-pro XS and Renderprohave been tested to achieve a 60 minute and 90 minute fire-resisting constructions.  We can offer pre-completion and post-completion fire resisting solutions to timber kit manufacturers.
Please contact us for further details.
When fitting Renderpro boards, they should be jointed leaving a small 2-4mm gap and then filled with an approved jointing material prior to being rendered with K-Rend HPX with Scrim Cloth or JUB JLM20 base coat with scrim cloth, and finished with the selected render finish.  K-Rend dash receivers, scratch renders and JUB thin coat renders are all suitable finishes depending on the situation and application.

Laths

Metal Lath metal lath diagram

A sheet of diamond pattern mesh.  Produced for render work and provides a high degree of mechanical bonding with render.  Nominal mesh size 9mm x 21mm.
Nominal weight 1.15kg/m²
Available in Galvanised, Novaplas coated or Stainless Steel.
Sheet size 2440mm x 690mm

Rib Lathrib lath diagram

A sheet herringbone patterned mesh having a profile between the mesh area.  It is self-furring in that the ribs space the face of the lath away from the supports and background, leaving a void into which the render can penetrate and form a key. Nominal mesh size 9mm x 21mm. Nominal weight 1.15kg/m²
Available in Galvanised, Novaplas coated or Stainless Steel.
Sheet size 2500mm x 600mm

Render Rib
render rib diagram

As Rib Lath but only available in galvanised.  Suitable for external use and has a heavier guage that Rib Lath.  Nominal mesh size 9mm x 21mm. Nominal weight 1.78kg/m²
Sheet size 2500mm x 600mm

Rendalath

Bekaert Rendalath is available as a galvanised or stainless steel lath with a building paper / breather membrane attached.  It is suitable for timber frame applications and for areas of defective rendering/masonry that have contamination or high/low suction.  There are a range of fixings from nylon plugs to stainless steel staples and screws with washers depending on the substrate to be lathed.
It is available with a 60mm phenolic insulation board attached for insulated render applications.  This lath should be finished with K-Rend UF Fibre Base Coat prior to applying the desired drydash, scratch or thin coat render finish.
Available in sheet size 2450 X 650mm.

Comment: We recommend the use of Stainless Steel and PVC beads for external applications.  Care should be taken when using Novaplas Coated beads and Galvanised Beads should only be used externally with guideance.

Galvanised beads are designed for internal use and are manufactured to BS6452 Part 1: 1984. Laths are designed for internal use except Render Rib which has a zinc coating of 450gms/m² manufactured to BS 1369 Part 1: 1987.
Novaplas products are as the galvanised products and are then powder coated to give high corrosion resistance. They are designed for external use and are ideally suited for modern renders.
Stainless steel products offer a higher specification again and are suitable for exterior application and areas subject to possible salt water exposure.
