Rowebb Specialist Renders and Render Finishes

Hillhout log cabins

Rowebb are the main Scottish stockists of Kilwaughter Chemical Co Ltd's K-Rend range of polymer cement renders, including Dash Receivers, Scrape and Roughcast Finishes and Sprayed Finishes to be used in conjunction with K-Rend Base Coats.  See our colour range below.  Additional sundries are available to complete your application.

Kilwaughter Quarry

Kilwaughter were established in 1939 and operate from Larne in Nothern Ireland, where they have grown to be a market leader in pre-bagged render technology.

A key feature of their product development has been the introduction of silicone water repellent technology in their render range. The silicone technology imparts a high degree of water repellency to the render surface whilst allowing water vapour to pass through the render and let the substrate breathe.

Added to this, the inclusion of an algae inhibitor and these silicone based renders are at the forefront of render technology.

All K-Rend products are IS0 9001 approved and are part of the Kitemark BS EN998:2003 BS EN998:2003

Scrape and Roughcast Finishes

Silicone WP and Com-Rend are IS0 9001 approved with Com-Rend also having BBA Certification. Both conform to BS 5262 Type II. All textured finishes are available in both fine and coarse texture grades.

Smooth/Flat Render                                                                                                       Our general method for obtaining a smooth or flat render is to use Silicone FT Fine Tex Scratch Render.  This can be trowelled and floated and left smooth, although we would always advise that it be textured to remove blemishes and any lime bloom.  The preferred option is to apply UF Base Coat to a full render thickness and then to float or scratch this render.  Additionally, the fine grading of this material leads to a very fine textured render that is ideally suited for a JUB paint final coat in your desired colour. Download our Scrape & Roughcast information leaflet.

25Kg Bag
Silicone WP (Standard Texture) (hand applied)
k-rend 25kg bag

Silicone WP - Standard Texture is a coarse scratch render.  Applied by hand over an approved base coat to a thickness of 10-12mm thick and then textured as required, or in 1 coat in 2 passes to a full thickness of 20mm and then textured.  The finished render will leave a broken stone open texture with a full through render colour.  With the inclusion of silicone and an algae inhibitor, these renders have improved water repellence and resistance to algae growth.  These renders are available in the full K Rend colour range.
Approx Coverage: 20-24kg/m² approx nominal 16-18mm thickness
1m² per bag as single coat or 1.2m ² per bag over base coat

25Kg Bag
Silicone FT (Fine Textured) (hand applied)
k-rend 25kg bag

Silicone FT is a fine scratch render.  As above but with a more closed surface textured finish. Coverage as Silicone WP
Approx Coverage: 20-24kg/m² approx nominal 16-18mm thickness
1m² per bag as single coat or 1.2m ² per bag over base coat

25Kg Bag
Silicone Roughcast - Wet dash
k-rend 25kg bag
A traditional wet dash finish is achieved with a fully blended product from the bag with only the addition of clean water required.  Incorporating a 6mm limestone aggregate, this render is applied over a coloured receiver coat and an inclusion of silicone e.g. Silicone Dash Receiver.  With the inclusion of silicone and an algae inhibitor, this is a high performance take on the traditional wetdash finish.  Available in the complete range of K-Rend colours offering a full through coloured render.
Approx Coverage: 7-12kg/m² nominal 6-9mm thickness approx 2-4m² per bag
