The specified base coat is applied to the recommended thickness and then applied with a notched trowel. This will ensure the mesh is fully incorporated into the render rather than lying on top of it. The mesh is then laid across the wet render starting at the top and working down. The render is then trowelled and the mesh will become fully embedded into the render. Once it has been fully incorporated the reinforcement is complete and the base coat is ready for the next coat of render. It can also used as a reinforcement over previously painted renders and nylon plugs would be added at 500mm centres whilst the render is still wet.
Alkali Resistant Scrim ClothSKU: 1303844493.
Scrim cloth is fully compatible with the modern factory batched renders that we offer and is manufactured at an approved & monitored European source. It is used to strengthen areas of high stress render typically around door and window openings, and over render and insulation boards. It can also be used throughout all base coats over all substrates to improve the long term performance of the render system.
